COACH DAVID, MPH, CSCS

I help people create a sustainable lifestyle and build the body they want. Educate, equip, and inspire is the goal to help each person become stronger and healthier.

This mission began in 2013 when I started personal training with a research lab at UCLA. There I trained obese and diabetic patients who had the goal of transforming their health using only exercise and nutrition. I have worked as a personal trainer independently as well as in various small and large gyms. I have also organized health programs for high schoolers, taught nutrition in rural countries with medical mission groups, run small group classes for mothers in an after school program, and coached sports teams.

The amount of misinformation regarding health and fitness is overwhelming, but at Sculpt Fitness you won’t find damaging exercise mentalities or fad diets. Our program is taught using well-researched principles that are guaranteed to work forever. If you have questions regarding health and fitness, ask them with complete confidence that you will receive an answer backed by science. In 2015 I graduated from UCLA with a Biochemistry degree and went on the get a Masters Degree in Public Health, Nutrition at Loma Linda University.

Aside from my health background, I am a husband, father, golfer, food lover and fitness enthusiast. I enjoy traveling to learn about different cultures and trying new foods.

Angel Martinez Personal Trainer

COACH ANGEL, CPT-NASM

After years of playing competitive sports, I gained an unhealthy 60lbs and no longer felt like the elite athlete I used to be. Not feeling like myself, it was time for a change. During my weight loss journey I fell in love with fitness, and by the end of it I not only lost 70lbs, but I found a new passion.

For over 4 years, I've helped hundreds of clients through their own fat loss journeys, and I love working with older clients on mobility and functional movement. Several of my 1-on-1 clients have trained with me for years, and I've built injury prevention and recovery protocols to help them stay strong and pain-free for the long haul.

Outside the gym, I compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have placed in several tournaments — a discipline that keeps me sharp, humble, and constantly learning.

I believe that everyone is capable of becoming the best version of themselves with consistency, hard work, and encouragement.

Fernando Diaz Personal Trainer

COACH FERNANDO, CPT-NASM

Resistance training took me from skinny to strong. I've always enjoyed sports and staying active, but only through training did my body begin to transform. My personal fitness journey built my confidence and sparked my career as a personal trainer, where I've helped my clients build muscle, strength, and reveal their best selves.

I hold a degree in Kinesiology, which allows me to break down the science of training into clear, easy-to-understand guidance for every client. For the past 3 years, I've also led many of our youth programs, both here at the facility and at community centers around Long Beach.

As a father myself, I understand what it takes to balance work, family, and health — and I bring that same real-world perspective to helping you build a routine that actually fits your life.

Starting your fitness journey can be challenging. There will be obstacles in your way, but I'm here to help you overcome those roadblocks and create a lifestyle that gives you confidence and strengthens you for years to come.

Fernando Diaz Personal Trainer

COACH MAGGIE, CPT-ACE, IASTM

I've been a personal trainer for five years, specializing in diverse fitness goals like weight loss, compound lifts, and marathon training. I'm an Indiana native and a Purdue University graduate, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Physical Therapy.

After spending 4 years dancing professionally in San Francisco, I moved to Long Beach and am currently pursuing my master's degree at CSULB. I transitioned to the fitness world after working as a Physical Therapy Technician. Because of this experience, I'm well-versed in restoring athletic function after injury, surgery, or any other lifestyle change.

I'm certified in pre/post-natal training and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), so I can help you tackle hurdles and overcome physical limitations to optimize your health and performance.

I'm passionate about helping others find their path to optimum health and am proficient in coaching rock climbers, runners, and dancers.

Personal Trainer Steven Longobardi

COACH STEVEN, CPT-ISSA, PN1

With over a decade of experience helping people improve their health and confidence, I believe fitness should be personalized, sustainable, and enjoyable. As an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, I specialize in strength training, body composition, nutrition coaching, and creating programs that meet clients where they are—whether they’re just getting started or looking to break through a plateau.

My coaching philosophy is simple: stop just working out—start training with purpose. Every program is designed around your goals, lifestyle, movement quality, and long-term success, so you can build strength, move better, and create lasting habits.

Outside of the gym, I have an extensive background in hospitality leadership and am also a certified sound healer, bringing a unique perspective on recovery, stress management, and overall wellness. I believe true health comes from balancing physical fitness with mental and emotional well-being.
